'Navigating life challenges through psychology flexibility'
A practitioner who is fascinated by dispositional optimism, positive psychology, and personal growth. Over the past 9 years of working in elite sport, academia, occupational health and the NHS, I have recognised that life navigation and performance excellence requires certain ingredients. Life navigation requires being open-minded, solution-focused, and embracing the present moment. The ability to hook onto thoughts that build you up instead of knocking you down is crucial and the 3 P's that nudge you towards fulfilment are passion, patience, and persistence.
I have worked with coaches, teams and international athletes from several sports (football, rugby, athletics, boxing, swimming hockey, netball, handball, and winter sports) providing psychological support and well-being advice. My performance enhancement approach encourages you to become aware of the interaction between your thoughts, emotions and behaviours and explore how to best manage approach your thinking patterns. Just like using a computer, it is learning which 'thinking' buttons you want to keep pressing to enhance your performance, increase happiness, and mentally rest.
