Hello everyone, my name is Rebecca.
I am a doctoral student and 'Trainee Sport and Exercise Psychologist' moving into my 7th year of training.
Sport psychology is a relatively new, and exciting field of psychology with many benefits for an individual's sporting performance. I currently work with many professional and recreational level athletes in 1-1 sessions from a range of sporting backgrounds, within multiple contexts. 1-1 sport psychology sessions can be used to: aid an athlete's sport-based performance; help an athlete develop their mental skills; or can be used for athlete’s holistic development within a safe, judgement -free, environment.
Alongside my work as a trainee sport psychologist, I currently work at the Scottish Association for Mental Health (SAMH), leading on the innovation of a digital self care plan, for those between the ages of 16-24. Furthermore, I am completing doctoral level research. My doctoral research is based upon 'choking under pressure' in sport, and the impacts of anxiety on sporting performance.
If any of the areas listed above are of interest for you and your sporting performance/ wellbeing, please get in touch!
