More About Zach Hickmore

I love sport because of what it does for those that play it, support it and work in it. Mental Coach Zachery was started in an effort to support all those involved in sport, whether you are a coach, athlete, parent, recreational gym-goer or someone looking to incorporate sport and performance psychology to improve your performance in other areas of life. My background as an athlete, education in general psychology, applied sport psychology and exercise science have given me a well-rounded view of athletic development through which I am able to aid my clients holistically.

Although much of my work has been with adult and elite level athletes, I have worked with school age athletes for over 10 years as a mentor, coach and teaching psychological skills that they can apply in every aspect of their lives. I strongly believe that young athletes need to be equipped with proper mental skills, set goals, learn to focus their attention and build self-confidence as soon as they are able. A large part of my work is dedicated to researching and developing these skills with young athletes so that they might cope and thrive under pressure, and enjoy their sport for as long as possible.
